Version 5 · Effective

“The desktop app” means the application downloaded from this website; “the service” means the website and hosted calling service. Both are for adults aged 18 and over.

Who is responsible

James Lawrence, based in the United Kingdom, is responsible for your personal information. Email our privacy contact with questions or requests.

Information we use and why

We use your email, display name, protected sign-in details, device and connection information to manage accounts and calls. An account is required to call. We also use activity records, diagnostics and information you send us for security, troubleshooting and support.

For these administrative purposes, we rely on legitimate interests in providing free collaboration tools and running a secure, reliable service. This does not establish a legal basis for sensitive content you choose to share.

Cookies, browser storage and local files support sign-in, preferences and captions. Update checks send the desktop app's version and ordinary connection information. We use no external analytics or error-reporting services.

You control audio, video, screen sharing and collaboration features. Optional captions process audio on your device without uploading it for transcription or saving or sending transcripts.

Who receives information and where

Call participants receive your name, relevant device and sharing information, and content you share. They may see your IP address and copy or record content. The hosted call-management service handles account and connection information; connection providers may relay encrypted media.

We use hosting, connection, email and app or caption download providers. They receive information needed for those functions, including ordinary download-request information. Stored account and call information is hosted in Germany; other providers may process information elsewhere. Contact us for details of applicable transfer safeguards. We may disclose information where required by law.

How long information remains

Account data remains until deletion or erasure; dormant accounts are not automatically deleted. Calls normally expire after 24 hours, sign-in approval codes after 10 minutes and approved-device app credentials after 90 days. Changing or resetting your password or deleting your account ends device approvals earlier. Expired or revoked records are cleaned up periodically; call messages have a one-day retention window. Processing delays can postpone deletion. Sign-in cookies last up to 30 days.

Logs are replaced when storage limits are reached. Failed-task records and support correspondence have no fixed deletion schedule; you can request deletion. Deleting your account removes your profile, credentials and participant records, while recent messages, queued information and logs follow their separate retention rules. Local files and other participants' copies remain until their holders remove them.

Your rights

Contact us to request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability, subject to applicable law. We may verify your identity. You can also delete your account.

Right to object: you may object to processing based on legitimate interests for reasons relating to your situation. We will stop unless a legal exception permits it to continue.

You may complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office or your local supervisory authority.

We will date notice changes and explain material new uses of information before they begin, obtaining any permission required.
